ʼTwas the season to be jolly and just like every year, our team huddled together just as soon as the August heatwaves went at bay, to start thinking of the right gift to give to our clients as per our yearly tradition since weʼve opened our doors as a marketing and design agency.
One of our newest clients produces locally sourced preserves and since during Christmas time, everyone is meeting up and sharing their love of food. It felt just right to also support a local business and share it with other local businesses around the island. This was the birth of the theme of this yearʼs gift, ‘Joy to the Tummyʼ. Of course, we wanted to take it a step further and design our very own packaging.
For this time round, we were feeling a little bit nostalgic, so we looked at Christmas card styles and illustrations from the past – but obviously giving it that current twist. We delved deep into the ages and we felt that the roaring twenties were the way to go! Fitting, taking into consideration that weʼre in the 2020ʼs slowly but surely seeing the light from the pandemic. We looked at artworks of Christmas cards and old posters of alcoholic beverages to draw inspiration. The sketching process then began!
Despite going for something in the ‘vintageʼ era – when it came to the colour scheme we still went for a fresh combination. The dark blue and stark white shades were a different direction from the traditional Christmas colours.
The illustrations went out for print and just in the nick of time they arrived at our office doorstep, where our team of elves assembled and packed each box with goodies for our client. Santa didnʼt get the memo that we had a lot of deliveries to place, so our little elves also drove far and wide from North to South, to make sure our lovely clients and suppliers got their Christmas goodies on time before our Christmas shutdown!
